We had a wonderful first week in Kindergarten! I am so proud of all of our friends! They are doing so well with listening, following directions, and staying focused. Thank you for all of your support! Together we can do this!
Next week, we will meet on Teams each day from 8:10-9:30. You will continue to log in for specials at 12:20 using the following schedule. Monday: PE Tuesday: Discovery Lab Wednesday: Music Thursday: PE Friday: Art During reading next week, we will continue to work on rhyming words, understand characters in stories, beginning sounds, and the roles of authors and illustrators. During our math lessons, we will focus on 2D shapes (square, circle, triangle, rectangle, hexagon) and 3D shapes (cube, sphere, cylinder, rectangular prism, cone). We will talk about the shapes’ characteristics (number of sides/corners, flat/solid) as well as real life examples of each shape. The Science/Social Studies lessons will be on Seesaw each day and will be done independently instead of as a live lesson. We will learn about map skills, our address, and sink/float. Please make sure that you picked up the learning packet for next week. You can pick up the packet from a bin outside of Dolvin. Instead of returning the packet each week, please take pictures of the required assignments and post them on Seesaw. For next week, you will need the rhyming cards (Tuesday) and “lesson 6 problem set pg. 4” (Monday) from the packet. During office hours for the next 2 weeks, I will be doing individual assessments. Please be sure to sign up for 2 separate sessions for your child. I will call your child via Teams using the Teacher Desk channel. It will be very important to allow your child to answer each of my questions independently. It is okay if your child does not know the answer to a question. This assessment helps me plan my instruction. Please sign up using the link below. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c044eaca722a4fe3-kgkids If you need anything, please let me know. I am really enjoying your children! We have a great class!
