Happy Weekend, Families!
We had such a wonderful week in our classroom! The children are learning our routines quickly and becoming more independent at competing activities each week. We worked on completing a diagnostic assessment on iReady for both reading and math. This week, we will begin using this computer program in our daily rotations. We continue to practice our PBIS school rules and we are all earing Bucket Stickers for making good choices throughout the day. We practiced identifying and coming up with rhyming words and writing our names with only the first letter capitalized. We learned more about various 2D shapes and their attributes. We continued with Number Talks and learned more about ten frames, place value, and the value of pennies and dimes. Next week we will cover the following topics: Reading: letter identification, syllables, retelling a story, story elements, fiction and non-fiction Writing: handwriting, narrative writing Math: solid shapes (3D) such as sphere, cube, cone, cylinder, rectangular prism, counting to 100 by ones and tens Science: physical properties/attributes of materials Beginning on Monday, we will eat lunch 10 minutes earlier. This will allow for less children to be in the cafeteria at one time and will allow us to spread everyone out more. Our new lunch time will be 10:21. Due to this change, we will now have our snacks in the afternoons, after specials. Please be sure that your child eats breakfast each morning since we will no longer have a morning snack time. Curriculum Night will now be virtual. It will be posted on the Dolvin website on Thursday. If after viewing the slideshow, you have any questions, please reach out to us. Please remember to pack an extra mask for your child in case a new one is needed. If your child is out due to illness, please send us an email to let us know. I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Please reach out if you have questions. Our weekly news will now also be posted on our Teams channel.
